Wet and Wind Swept - but Thoroughly Enjoyable

Back from Cornwall. Really good holiday though weather could have been better!
Eden Project http://www.edenproject.com/ absolutely fab and everyone should make the effort to go to this. Good value for money and if you gift aid your entrance money, your ticket is valid for 12 months and you can visit as many times as possible.
We stayed self catering at http://www.foweyvacations.com/property1/ which was excellent. Animal friendly and the local neigbours, the bassett Hounds and Horses were great.
I will post more when I get my camera and video camera attached

Acorn Antiques and Dreadful Seats

Went off to Nottingham on tuesday and had a fab evening. Firstly went to Wagamamas http://www.wagamama.com/locations_map.php?locationid=3
First time there and can highly recommend it.
Then went on to Theatre Royal http://www.royalcentre-nottingham.co.uk/
to see Acorn Antiques http://www.acornantiquesthemusical.com/
Absolutely fantastic. Quite different from the London production as Victoria Wood has cut the 1st act and introduced several new characters, new songs and new scenes. Fab.
But suffered the most excruiating pain in my left knee for the majority of the first half due ot lack of leg room. These old theatres are really not deisgned for tall people.
Anyway, second half moved to the end of the row and got on much better.
If you get the opportunity - go along and have an excellent laugh
Off on my hols tomorrow so probably nothing for a week unless I can log on whilst away.

Not Much News Really

Into town yesterday morning to collect my contact lens' and to try and buy an up to date Touristy type map of Cornwall. Ours is approximately 20 years old - is it really that long since we were last there??
Anyway, failed miserably on the map front , will buy one when we arrive. Not long now and really looking forward to it though the weather over the weekend is rain apparently.
Feet quite sore after my Town trip so did not do much this afternoon except taking my boy to the Vets as he has an eye infection. Cream prescribed - just another thing for Helen to think about when they go on their hols.
Off to Nottingham this evening to see Acorn Antiques. Really looking forward to that.
Then back to work tomorrow for one day. Hoping to catch up on bits and pieces and then able to go off on holiday with peace of mind.

Hectic Weekend with Tragic News

But not seem to have done much.
Lots of tidying ready for our hols - off to sunny Cornwall and really fancy a fish meal at Steinville AKA Padstow and one of the Rick Stein places. Bit of shopping.
Today saw one of my close friends who had received tragic news that her 35yr old son in law had died unexpectedly yesterday morning leaving Ruth & two youngsters Ellie 3yrs and Louis 10mths. What do you say
God Bless Oz

Busy Day & Feet Quite Reasonable at the End of It

Popped over to see Steve & Jan, two good friends, who have moved house. Their new house is really nice. Jan is now back in Blaby where she originates from and is one happy bunny. Strange that the last time I went down that bypass the houses were not even there!! Didn't think it had been that long since I'd been there.
When I left there I went to Fosse park and purchased some clothes for my hols next week. We are off to Cornwall and are really looking forward to it.
From there, popped in to LRI to visit my friend who has recently had weight loss surgery. She is doing really well and looked well today. Hoping to go home tomorrow.
Then back home.
Tired and feet a little sore - 5 small areas of open sores, but generally so much better.
Hope I don't pay for it tomorrow

Sore Feet Return

You can tell that I am off work at the moment because I am managing daily entries at the moment. It wont last I'm sure.
Went our driving today, just a short trip and a brief shop and feet are agony again. Nothing like this time last week it has to be said but pretty dire. New skin is present over most of foot but very delicate and this is now cracking and flaking off.
Have some pics of my feet 5 days on which I will post when I find the cable for my phone.
Aghhhhhhhhhhhh - feet are just such a painful thing.
Weather has been pretty uck today as well. Had some rain which the flowers and grass lapped up but the Torts are pretty fed up with me as I didn't put them out. Bayley was out for a short while but bought himself back in before the rain started.
Looking froward to return of New Tricks - missed last weeks and also Diamond Geezer. Will record Return to Inside of Britain's Fattest Man on Sky.

My baby Toby was 11yrs old yesterday. I can't believe it, the time has flown.
Will he ever grow up and/or slow down? He is far more energetic than his beloved little brother Jasper who is 6yrs old, but slower and bigger than Toby.
Just thought I would post a coupls of snaps.
First one his "offical" birthday photo.
The second one is him in his favourite postion doing his favourite thing with his favourite object - a dirty sock of Nigel's,s tolen from the washing pile. He has to sleep like this in case that naughty Jasper creeps up on him!!!
Enjoy

Progress So Far

Hobbling a little more easily but once I've done one walk I know it. Off to GP this afternoon for a review and re-dressing. First time I will have seen the offending articles since Tuesday so......
Really looking froward to taking a shower as this is banned at the moment. Managed to wash my hair this morning with a bit of precarious balancing - but such a relief.
Will let you know how I get on later

Owhhhhhhh Those Poor Feet

Been flat out with work including this week a 2 day trip to Leeds. All going well on Monday until I had to walk back to the car, via just about every street and road in Leeds. The previously encountered 10 minute walk took 1.5 hours and both the balls of my feet have been shredded of any skin!!
Consequently spent Tuesday evening in A&E getting them cleansed and dressed and bandaged. Great fun trying to walk without walking on my feet. Heels dont work as you need one good foot to balance.
Any other suggestions welcome.
Was going to post some photos but they really were a bit gorey.
Anyway, next post will be far more positive

Well I'm Outed!!

Sounds interesting? Well, actually it was a little while ago now. I appeared, albeit very briefly on the Trevor McDonald "Tonight" programme - the one about Weight Loss Surgery.
Yes, that is how I've done it! Well, it has been a contributing factor. I have lost 16 stones in weight since I had a Gastric Bypass (roux-en-y) in December 2003 and generally have never felt better.
Will detail more now that I can be totally hoenst on here.
